raven leigh is my dog...she will be 5 yrs old on july 3rd. well, she wont make it to 5 yrs old...she was hit by a car last night..... she's lived behind a fence most of her life....and with this move, she is no longer behind a fence....she has no fear of cars....she doesnt understand the danger, well she didnt until last night....we went out to 'potty' before bed last night....she was playin' and runnin'...i didnt have her on a chain, didnt feel the need to...she hasnt run out into the street before....she ran into the street, a car was there and gone before i realized what happened....they were goin' to fast to see her....she is solid black and it was late at night....they were goin' so fast they probably didnt even realize they hit her....i dont have any money for a vet...so, thats out of the question....all i can do is make her comfortable for now...she is drawin' her right hind leg up and her mouth is really messed up...it looks like her jaw is broken and she wont let me touch it...she wont try to drink anythin', and when i put water down beside her so she can try, she acts like its poison or somethin'....she is in really good spirits, which amazes me....a fly was buzzin' around her head....and she tried to catch it...she loves to chase flying bugs, its her 'thing'...lol... all i can do it pet her, and cry, and let her know everything is gonna be ok...but i know its not...i know she is hurting, but she is still moving around, still playing actually.... \she has been the best friend i have ever asked for.....she is such a woderful dog....ive had her since day 1, literally....she was born in my home....her mother was my at-the-time roommate's dog....she is part chihuahua/terrier and pug...she has a small head like a chihuahua and a terrier nose....but other than that, she is all pug... rest in peace my little raven leigh...i love you |
